Qatar LNG carrier Al Mayeda attacked in Arabian Gulf; crew safe
Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) said one of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, Al Mayeda, was attacked by unidentified objects while sailing in the Arabian Gulf on Friday evening.
According to a company statement carried by Qatar News Agency, none of the vessel’s crew members was injured and the incident caused no environmental impact.
Nakilat said the vessel remained in a safe position and retained control of its operational capabilities. Relevant authorities are assessing the effects of the incident.
The company added that it was maintaining direct contact with the vessel, its crew and regional maritime security authorities to ensure the safety of crew members and monitor developments.
