“Interior Ministry” confirms arrests in a human trafficking network

As part of ongoing efforts to combat and eliminate human trafficking, the Residence Affairs Sector, through the General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations – Search and Investigation Department, arrested a citizen and a Pakistani national on charges of human trafficking. This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior.

Investigations revealed that the two individuals collaborated to bring expatriate workers into the country under the sponsorship of a company in exchange for payments of approximately 500 Kuwaiti dinars per person. Further inquiries uncovered that the company in question had 119 workers registered under its sponsorship.

The vigilance of the Residence Affairs Investigations officers successfully halted these illegal activities, leading to the arrest of all individuals involved in the case, including those who facilitated their operations. The suspects were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action to be taken against them.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to combating human trafficking and cracking down on any attempts to facilitate residency in exchange for money. It emphasized its dedication to enforcing the law, vowing to prosecute and arrest anyone who engages in such illegal activities, and dares to violate the law.
