Interior Ministry arrests wanted suspect for car theft at knifepoint

The Al-Shamiya Investigations Office of the Capital Governorate Investigations Department, under the Criminal Security Sector of the Ministry of Interior, arrested a wanted individual for stealing a vehicle at knifepoint.
The Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that a suspect with a criminal record was arrested for stealing a vehicle from a female citizen in the Shuwaikh area, threatening her with a knife, and forcing her out of the car before fleeing with it.
Furthermore, the ministry stated that following intensive investigations, the accused’s criminal method was identified, he was wandering through parking lots, targeting women in their vehicles, entering the car, and threatening the victim to force her out before seizing the vehicle.
Importantly, through intensified search and monitoring operations, Shamiya detectives successfully located the stolen vehicle in a mosque parking lot in one of the areas.
A tight security watch was maintained until the suspect was spotted approaching the vehicle on foot. When officers attempted to arrest him, he tried to flee, but the security force managed to apprehend him and recover the vehicle’s key.
Moreover, when confronted with the evidence, the accused admitted to committing the crime. He is also wanted in connection with another theft case, with an arrest warrant issued against him. Additionally, he has a criminal record involving theft and robbery cases too.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the accused has been referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal procedures.
