Indian tastes, tunes and traditions celebrated at “Bharat Mela”

Embassy of India, Kuwait, under ‘Promotion of Culture Ties with Diaspora’ scheme of Ministry of External Affairs, India, organized ‘Bharat Mela’ on 15 February 2025 from 11 AM to 9 PM at the Boulevard Park (Cricket Stadium), Salmiya. The event was inaugurated by Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Dr. Adarsh Swaika and former Indian Cricketers MSK Prasad and Venkatpathy Raju.

The first of its kind mega-event, themed ‘A Celebration of Indian Tastes, Tunes, and Traditions’ showcased India’s rich cultural heritage through a non-stop display of diverse art forms, performed by over 700 artists.

Their captivating performances enthralled an audience of more than 7,000 attendees throughout the day. The event also featured over 25 stalls offering authentic Indian cuisines and displaying a variety of Indian products including handicrafts, ayurveda and textiles.

The event received an enthusiastic response from cross-section of the Indian diaspora, Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, and Friends of India in Kuwait, highlighting the strong cultural ties between the two nations.
