Kuwait Foreign Minister joins GCC talks on sidelines of UN General Assembly
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Sunday took part in a coordination meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in New York, held on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination among GCC member states and aligning their positions on issues of common interest.
The ministers also discussed preparations for a series of meetings with other countries as well as regional and international blocs scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings.
The coordination meeting comes as GCC foreign ministers intensify consultations ahead of a busy diplomatic agenda at the UN, with the Gulf states seeking to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues.
