IMA Kuwait Concludes Month-Long Quran Campaign with Grand Quran Conference

The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait concluded its month-long Quran Campaign with a Grand Quran Conference at Masjid Al Kabir on January 24, 2025, under the patronage of the Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

The conference featured a range of impactful events, including the Concluding Main Event, Ladies Wing Final Day Event, Youth Wing’s Mega Quiz Grand Finale, exhibitions, calligraphy, and quiz competitions, attracting significant community participation from across Kuwait.

Campaign Highlights:

The campaign aimed to instill the noble virtues and ethics of the Holy Quran in everyday life, inspired by the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The central theme, “كان خلقه القرآن” (His character was the Quran), encouraged the Muslim Ummah to reconnect with Quranic teachings and align their lives with values of justice, compassion, and truthfulness.

The campaign reached over 10,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds, including students, youth, women, professionals, and families. It utilized IMA’s weekly Quranic study sessions, Friday sermons at various Masjids, individual and family meetings, interviews on Radio Kuwait and Kuwait TV, a Quran retreat workshop, social media platforms, and more to spread its message.

Main Event Highlights:

The Quran Conference’s keynote speaker, Dr. Taha Mateen, a visiting scholar from India, delivered a thought-provoking speech titled “Prophet ﷺ – The Living Quran”. He emphasized that the Quran is not just a book of recitation but a guide for transformation, highlighting its relevance to modern-day challenges.

Dr. Mateen urged individuals to reflect the Quran’s values in their actions and described Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the living embodiment of the Quran, whose life serves as a model for humanity. The event was attended by over 1,500 people.

Mr. Mohammad Umar Falahi, IMA President, delivered the second keynote speech on the “Message of Isra Wa Meraj”. He highlighted the significance of this miraculous journey, explaining how Allah honored Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during hardship, elevating his status by granting the journey beyond the heavens.

Mr. Falahi emphasized the importance of Salat, gifted during this journey, and discussed key lessons such as Islam’s alignment with human nature, the need for social justice, and the elimination of societal evils like interest and adultery. He urged Muslims to uphold the rights of the weak, foster equality, and reflect on the Prophet’s leadership, offering a timeless guide for faith, morality, and societal reform.

Ladies Wing Campaign Final Day Event:

The IMA Ladies Wing’s Quran Campaign Finale at Masjid Al Kabir attracted a large gathering of women. Dr. Mubashshira Firdos Khan from India delivered a speech on “Quran – The Path of Salvation for Humanity”, emphasizing the Quran’s role in fostering compassionate families and promoting emotional and spiritual well-being. The event also included prize distributions for calligraphy and Quranic knowledge, an interactive quiz, and an exhibition showcasing the Quran’s scientific and historical significance.

Youth Wing’s Students Mega Quiz Competition:

The Youth Wing’s Grand Finale at Masjid Al Kabir featured the conclusion of the Students Mega Quiz Competition, highlighting the Quranic knowledge of students and the brilliance of youth. The Prize Distribution Ceremony, attended by families and a large audience, celebrated the students’ accomplishments.

Several distinguished guests attended the event, including Mr. Saud Al Mutairi, Manager of Masjid Al Kabir & Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Jamal Al Nouri, Chairman of Shaikh Abdulla Al Nouri Charitable Trust, Shaikh Mohammed Al Shatti, Head of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Kuwait University, Mr. Mohammed Ali, Coordinator at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Muzammil Malik, a well-known Indian businessman in Kuwait, and heads and representatives of several Indian Muslim Associations in Kuwait.

Another highlight of the event was a beautiful rendition of Naat (poetry in praise of the Quran Sharif), performed by Mr. Jawwad Khan in his melodious voice, which deeply moved the audience. The program began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Tayyab Bawazir and was convened by Mr. Waleed Umri. At the conclusion of the program, dinner packets were served to all attendees, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
