Iran confirmed on Friday that the exchange of messages with the United States is ongoing, but no final agreement has not been reached yet between the two countries.
In a statement to the TV, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said that “At this stage, we are focused on ending the war, and there are no negotiations on the nuclear issue”.
Regarding the future management of the Strait of Hormuz, Baqaei said that this issue is related to the countries which are overlooking the strait, namely Iran and Oman as two coastal states.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump announced in a post on Truth Social the immediate lifting of maritime blockade on Iran and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz without any tariffs imposed by either side. – Kuna
