Kuwait Seizes 300,000 Captagon Pills Worth Over KD 1.5 Million Hidden Inside a Truck Tire

The General Department for Drug Control seized the narcotics concealed inside a truck driven by a Turkish national in the Kabad area.

Kuwait’s General Department for Drug Control has seized 300,000 Captagon pills, with an estimated street value exceeding KD 1.5 million, in an operation conducted under the direct supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

The operation was carried out in the presence of Major General Fahad Al-Badr, Head of the Criminal Security Sector, the Director General of the General Department for Drug Control, and the Assistant Director General of the department.

Following investigations and surveillance in the Kabad area, security officers arrested a Turkish national who was driving a truck carrying the narcotics. The pills had been cleverly concealed inside the truck’s spare tire, using an insulating material to prevent detection.

Specialized teams used heavy-duty equipment to open the tire and recover the seized narcotics.

During questioning, the suspect admitted that he had been assigned to transport the pills from a neighboring country into Kuwait through one of the border crossings. He was instructed to enter the country using a permit for the truck he was driving.

Authorities coordinated with the drug control agency of the country from which the suspect had arrived. The suspect and the seized narcotics were subsequently referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal proceedings.

Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah affirmed that security agencies continue to dismantle drug trafficking networks and confront all forms of smuggling without compromise. He stressed that protecting society and its members from the dangers of narcotics remains a top security priority and warned that attempts to bring drugs into Kuwait would be met with firm action.
