ICAIKC hosts 4th Annual International Conference themed “LEAP Into the Future Together”

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Kuwait Chapter (ICAIKC) proudly hosted its 4th Annual International Conference at the prestigious Salwa Sabah Conference Centre, delivering a vibrant platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaboration.

Themed “LEAP Into the Future Together,” with LEAP signifying ‘Learn, Explore, Articulate, Prosper’ the event showcased the evolving role of the accounting profession in a rapidly changing global landscape. The event witnessed participation from over 400 members, 40 representatives from GCC and UK chapters of ICAI, as well as event sponsors.

An Inspiring Inauguration

The conference commenced with traditional lighting of lamp ceremony, symbolizing wisdom and prosperity.

The distinguished dignitaries who graced the occasion included:

  • H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, Ambassador of India to Kuwait
  • Mr. Meshal Al-Qahs, Assistant Undersecretary, Ministry of Finance
  • Mr. Sabah Mubarak Al-Jalawi, Chairperson, Kuwait Accountants & Auditors Association (KAAA)
  • CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, President of ICAI
  • CA Aditya Vikram Dhanuka, Chairperson of ICAIKC

The host of the event, CA Ketan Puri, guided the proceedings with finesse. The dignitaries, along with office bearers of ICAIKC, jointly unveiled the conference souvenir, marking the beginning of a day filled with enriching discussions and insights.

Visionary Speeches and Key Announcements

In his welcome address, CA Aditya Vikram Dhanuka highlighted ICAIKC’s pivotal contributions to the professional community in Kuwait.

CA Dhanuka emphasized the Chapter’s role in fostering collaboration between India and Kuwait and announced the three upcoming landmark events:

  1. ICAI World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) 2025, New Delhi, India (January 31 – February 2, 2025)
  2. ICAI GCC Chapter Conference, Muscat, Oman (January 18 and 19, 2025)
  3. 1st Startup Conference between Kuwait and India, in collaboration with the Indian Embassy and GUST (December 8, 2024)

Strengthening India-Kuwait Ties

The Vice-Chairperson of ICAIKC, CA Rohit Agarwal, welcomed, India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Adarsh Swaika, who in his address lauded ICAIKC’s dynamic efforts in strengthening India-Kuwait relations.

Reflecting on the conference’s theme, Ambassador Swaika remarked on its relevance in the current global context and expressed optimism about the growing synergy between the two nations.

Similarly, the Guest of Honour, Meshal Al-Qahs and Special dignitary, Sabah Mubarak Al-Jalawi underscored the importance of professional collaborations and the integral role of accountants in Kuwait’s economic landscape.

CA Sonia Enamakel and CA Umesh Soni welcomed these dignitaries for the event.

Insightful Sessions and Keynote Addresses

CA Sweta Chipra formally welcomed the keynote speaker, the highlight of the day, CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, ICAI President, discussed how technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the accounting profession.

CA Agarwal’s address set the stage for a series of engaging sessions that followed:

  • Mr. Chetan Bhagat, celebrated author and speaker, delivered a thought-provoking session on the importance of ethics, emphasizing the balance between personal aspirations and professional responsibilities. Mr. Bhagat reminded the audience that life is not solely about pursuing desires but also about embracing the responsibilities we ought to fulfil. It is in honouring these duties that we discover purpose and inner peace. Ethical living, he explained, is not about achieving perfection but navigating life’s complexities with balance and honesty.
  • Ms. Mai AlOwaish, CEO CINET, a leading expert in Data Analytics and AI, shared insights on how data-driven decision-making is revolutionizing business strategies, urging organizations to adopt innovation for sustainable growth.

CA Bhavani Vikram Joshi and CA Andaleeb Girkar warmly welcomed these distinguished speakers to the event.

Additionally, CA Anil Singhvi, stock market expert and Zee Business Managing Editor, shared invaluable insights into Indian capital markets during an interactive fireside chat with CA Sanjeev Agarwal and CEO of Protiviti.

CA Sweta Chipra warmly welcomed both the guests for the insightful fireside chat, which captivated the entire audience.
