GTD impounded 115 vehicles for 30 days for violating overtaking law
The General Traffic Department has impounded 115 vehicles for 30 days following a traffic campaign targeting violations of overtaking rules and regulations. The campaign was conducted by the Security Control Department as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and curb dangerous traffic violations.
According to the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector, the campaign resulted in 115 direct violations and five indirect violations, in addition to the impounding of 115 vehicles.
Legal action was also taken against the drivers of the violating vehicles. The General Traffic Department said it will continue its monitoring campaigns to ensure compliance with traffic laws and regulations and enhance road safety.
