The Scientific Center, a subsidiary of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS), hosted a glass exhibition to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable development.
The exhibition was held under the patronage of Spanish Ambassador H.E. Miguel Moro Aguilar on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Environmental awareness and sustainable development
Participants in the opening ceremony of the exhibition stressed the importance of environmental awareness in achieving sustainable development.
According to informed sources at Al-Qabas newspaper, the exhibition’s participants highlighted the need to adopt environmentally friendly practices and technologies to protect the planet.
Dr. Masoud Al-Yassin, Director General of the Scientific Center, affirmed the center’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
He emphasized the center’s role in engaging the public and inspiring children to pursue their interests in science through interactive exhibitions, practical workshops, and educational programs.
Al-Yassin added that the center strives to make science accessible to all ages. He explained that the center provides a dynamic environment that stimulates passion and reveals the mysteries of complex scientific concepts through practical demonstrations and engaging activities.
He also mentioned the center’s efforts to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. This was achieved by fostering a lifelong love of science and encouraging a deeper understanding of the world around us.
Al-Yassin noted that this year’s World Environment Day focuses on accelerating land restoration, enhancing drought resilience, and combating land degradation.
