Filipino community gear up and start preparation for Independence Day celebration

The Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait His Excellency Jose Cabrera III met with the leaders of different Filipino organizations in Kuwait to discuss early preparations for the community celebration of the Philippine Independence Day celebrated annually every 12th June. The Philippine envoy called for a unified celebration merging together all organizations into a one day event.
The Philippine envoy hosted a dinner in his residence and met with the different organizations to discuss further details of the event. Several leaders called for a unified celebration disregarding diversity among groups.
“Its about time we share one common goal to achieve unity and come up with line up of activities for the common good” added Mariam Zankawi, President of Ilocanos in Kuwait. Anna Del Mundo, owner of ADM International Manpower Services also presented a platform of activities.
The Philippine envoy highlighted that such suggestion could be the start to discuss further and bring to light more options for the community leaders to design a program for the celebration. A chatline will be created and invite leaders of different organizations to present suggestions and platforms. Another meeting will be arranged to finalize details.
Among those present in the meeting were officers from the embassy, Migrant Workers Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, attached agencies and Philippine TV and local media.
