Filipino workers in Kuwait received access to welfare services, employment guidance, healthcare and financial information during the “Care for OFW” event held on Friday at the grand ballroom of Boulevard in Salmiya.
Organized by the Coalition of Filipino Community Organizations in Kuwait (FilCom), in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office, the event brought together members of the Filipino community to access support and learn about services available to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

The programme featured lectures and seminars on labour laws, affordable housing, health and wellness, business opportunities and financial literacy. The sessions aimed to help workers better understand their rights, manage their finances and explore opportunities for their future.
The Migrant Workers Office provided information on reintegration programmes for Filipinos returning home, employment contract verification and entitlements linked to benefits, Social Security System (SSS) membership and the Pag-IBIG Fund. Representatives were available to explain the relevant procedures and services.

Healthcare was another key component, with medical teams offering general medical assistance and dental check-ups. The event also included singing performances, Zumba activities and raffle draws, combining information and services with opportunities for community engagement.
The collaboration between Filipino community organizations, the Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office highlighted the role of coordinated support in addressing the welfare and practical needs of Filipinos working in Kuwait.
