Energy sector tenders under review in high-level meeting

Attendees emphasized the urgency of launching the tender for the 900-MW Al-Subiya power plant project (Phase Four), along with multiple tenders for water and transportation network projects, as well as other ministry tenders.

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Acting Minister of Electricity,Water and Renewable Energy, is keen to expedite the issuance and awarding of tenders to meet Kuwait’s electricity and water needs. Dr. Adel Al-Zamel is set to meet with the board of directors of the ministry’s workers’ union to discuss the new shift schedules, which will take effect on April 1.

Officials from the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy met with the Central Agency for Public Tenders’ Board of Directors to discuss the proposal and awarding process for the ministry’s projects, Al Rai newspaper reported.

Informed sources within the ministry told the newspaper that Acting Minister of Electricity, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, is keen to expedite the issuance and awarding of tenders to meet the country’s electricity and water needs. They also praised the cooperation and interest of the authority’s Board of Directors in the ministry’s tenders.

Attendees discussed the urgent need to launch the tender for the 900-megawatt Al-Subiya power plant project (Phase Four), along with several tenders for water and transportation network projects, as well as all other ministry tenders.

In a related development, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Al-Zamel, is set to meet with the board of directors of the ministry’s workers’ union on Monday to discuss the new shift schedules, which will take effect on April 1.
