Constitutional Court examines 2024 National Assembly polls halt request

The Constitutional Court has ruled on the request to halt the 2024 National Assembly elections, based on the plaintiff’s argument regarding the questionable integrity of the decree used to amend the election law.

Lawyer Saad Al-Lamaa lodged an appeal requesting a suspension of the elections and challenging the validity of the decree for calling them, citing the lack of necessity and the unconstitutional restriction on voting rights based on adherence to Islamic law.
