Chinese Ambassador highlights progress on landmark Kuwait defence project

Chinese Ambassador H.E. Yang Xin says work on the joint ammunition factory is moving ahead as planned, describing it as one of the largest and most significant bilateral projects that reflects the deepening strategic partnership between Kuwait and China.
The joint ammunition factory being developed by Kuwait and China is progressing steadily and represents one of the most significant milestones in bilateral cooperation, according to Chinese Ambassador to H.E. Kuwait Yang Xin.
Speaking to local media, Ambassador Yang said the project is receiving close attention from both sides and that implementation is proceeding as planned.
“Everything is going well, and this factory is the largest and most important in this sector,” he said.
The ambassador described the facility as more than just a major industrial project, saying it reflects the growing strategic partnership between Kuwait and China and demonstrates the high level of mutual trust that has developed between the two countries.
He noted that the project is expected to strengthen industrial and technological capabilities in the defence sector while supporting the transfer of expertise and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Yang said the ammunition factory stands out as one of the flagship cooperation projects between Kuwait and China, underscoring both countries’ commitment to expanding long-term collaboration in areas of shared interest.
He added that the project continues to receive close follow-up from the relevant authorities and expressed confidence that the successful implementation of the factory will pave the way for further joint initiatives, reinforcing the steadily expanding relationship between Kuwait and China across multiple sectors.
