Cabinet announces Islamic New Year holiday on July 7

The Kuwait Cabinet of Ministers has announced that Sunday, July 7, 2024, will be a public holiday on account of the Islamic New Year (Hijri New Year).

This decision aligns with the Civil Service Bureau’s recommendation regarding the holiday.

The announcement stated that all ministries, government agencies, bodies, and public institutions will be closed on this day. Official work will resume on Monday, July 8, 2024.

Agencies with special work arrangements will determine their holiday schedules in accordance with the regulations of their respective authorities, taking into account the public interest.
