Azerbaijani woman arrested for running unlicensed clinic in Jaber Al-Ahmad
The Ministry of Interior has arrested an Azerbaijani woman for practicing medicine without a license at her private residence in Jaber Al-Ahmad City in exchange for money. The arrest was carried out by personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Anti-Forgery and Counterfeiting Department.
According to the Ministry of Interior, authorities received information that the suspect was receiving visitors at her residence and providing medical consultations and examinations. She was also allegedly preparing, selling herbal mixtures without the required approvals and licenses from the competent authorities.
Residence equipped as medical clinic
After obtaining the necessary legal authorization, a team from the Anti-Forgery and Counterfeiting Crimes Department, including female police officers, moved to the location and arrested the suspect inside her residence which had been equipped as a fully functioning medical clinic, with part of the property allocated to preparing and manufacturing herbal mixtures and producing their labels.
11,651 dinars and medical equipment seized
During the operation, officers found on her person 11,651 dinars in cash, along with a medical bed, examination equipment, a white coat and a patient-record book. Authorities also seized tools and materials allegedly used to prepare herbal mixtures and their labels.
Suspect admits charging for consultations
According to the ministry, the suspect has admitted during questioning that she had been using her residence as an unlicensed medical facility and providing consultations and examinations in return for fees allegedly ranged from 5 to 30 Kuwaiti dinars per consultation or examination.
