Authorities seize over 3 tons of spoiled fish at Kuwait Waterfront
Inspectors from Kuwait’s Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, have confiscated more than 3.2 tons of fish unfit for human consumption during an inspection campaign at the waterfront.
The authority said a total of 3,237 kilograms of fish was seized after inspectors found the products had spoiled and exhibited clear signs of deterioration, including changes in color, appearance and foul odors.
According to PAFN, the fish was intended for sale in the local market before it was intercepted during the inspection.
Legal action has been taken against those responsible and official violation reports have been filed. The confiscated fish was subsequently destroyed in accordance with approved health and safety regulations.
The authority reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying inspection campaigns to protect public health and prevent unsafe food products from reaching consumers.
