Al-Huwailah, Al-Duaij discuss boosting human rights cooperation, disability rights

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah held talks with Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Al-Duaij to explore ways to strengthen cooperation in human rights, particularly in implementing the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Al-Huwailah emphasized the importance of continued coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to advance Kuwait’s commitment to its international human rights obligations, reports Al-Rai daily.

Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher praised the efforts of the National Committee for the Implementation of the Convention, expressing the Foreign Ministry’s full support for its initiatives.

The meeting also addressed upcoming programs, including training courses to empower women and promote inclusive education for persons with disabilities, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
