Kuwait International Bank (KIB) recently held a press conference to introduce its latest digital product, the multi-currency Visa prepaid card, as part of its overarching strategy to offer innovative banking solutions. This new product aims to ensure convenience and ease for all customers, enhancing their payment and shopping experiences, particularly while traveling or completing international transactions.
Othman Tawfiqi, General Manager of the Retail Banking Department, expressed pride in the added value provided to customers through innovative products and services. He highlighted the multi-currency prepaid Visa card as a digital payment method designed to cater to travelers’ needs, facilitating international financial transactions such as online shopping and payments for students abroad. Customers can digitally request the card through the application and start using it within minutes, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Mohamed Atef Al-Sharif, General Director of the Department of Digital Innovation and Information Intelligence, emphasized KIB’s commitment to pioneering digital banking solutions. He stated that the new card reflects KIB’s dedication to providing flexible and secure products and services that meet international standards, enhancing customers’ travel experiences with time-saving online payments and enhanced security features like 3D Secure.
Laila Nasrallah, Product Manager in the Department of Digital Innovation and Information Intelligence, provided insights into the features of the multi-currency prepaid card.
Customers can choose from 12 international currencies in addition to the Kuwaiti dinar, with the option to add up to five currencies to their wallet based on their travel needs. The card offers competitive exchange rates and can be easily refilled using the KIB application or digital channels, with a daily limit of up to 3,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
Ali Hinawi, Director of Business Development at Visa Kuwait, commended KIB’s initiative, highlighting the benefits of the new product for customers. He emphasized the access to Visa’s global network, ensuring comprehensive access and flexibility in services during travel. Customers can securely make payments via VisaNet, Visa’s advanced global network, leveraging the prepaid currencies efficiently and securely.
