Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait marks 80th Independence Anniversary
The Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait on Aug 14, marked the 80th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day and the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in a spirit of patriotism and national pride.
The flag-hoisting ceremony was attended by a large number of members of the Pakistani community. In his address, the Ambassador Pakistan H.E. Dr. Zafar Iqbal paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s forefathers and expressed hope for the country’s continued development and prosperity.
He highlighted the longstanding bonds of brotherhood between Pakistan and Kuwait and expressed appreciation for the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir and the Government of Kuwait for their continued friendship and support.
The Ambassador also called on the Pakistani community to remain steadfast in its ongoing efforts for the development of Pakistan and Kuwait. Documentaries on the Pakistan Movement and the life of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah were screened during the event, along with national songs.
Photographs depicting Pakistan’s struggle for freedom, its history and its rich cultural heritage were also displayed and attracted considerable interest from visitors.
