Customs foil attempt to smuggle 5kg of narcotics inside 3 air cargo shipments

Customs inspectors at the Air Cargo Customs Department have foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances into the country hidden inside commercial shipments arriving from a European country.
According to the General Administration of Customs, inspectors intercepted three incoming shipments that were falsely declared as hair oils and spare parts. The shipments were flagged during routine monitoring and inspection procedures due to suspicions over their contents.
Upon thorough examination, officials discovered a liquid substance suspected to be narcotic “chemical,” weighing approximately five kilograms. Authorities said the contraband had been carefully concealed in an attempt to mislead customs officers and bypass regulatory controls, reports Al-Rai daily.
The authority added that legal procedures have been initiated against the seized shipments, with formal reports prepared and the case referred to the relevant authorities for further action.
