Iran to allow nuclear inspectors under US deal, says JD Vance

US Vice President JD Vance said on Monday that Iran will allow international nuclear inspectors back into the country as part of a framework agreement with the US.

“Yes, absolutely,” Vance told NBC News when asked whether inspectors would return to Iran, adding that one of the key elements of the deal was cooperation between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the US, and Iran, to dismantle Tehran’s highly enriched uranium stockpile.

He said this was “spelled out very clearly” in the memorandum of understanding.

The US and Iran struck an initial deal on Sunday aimed at ending the war, which is known as the memorandum of understanding.

The document has not been released.

Trump said the document will likely be released sometime after Friday, when the US and Iran are scheduled to formally sign the document.

But JD Vance later said the document may be released before Friday.
