Hijri New Year Begins Tomorrow; Public Holiday on Tuesday

The beginning of the Hijri year 1448 was confirmed on Monday evening following the sighting of the crescent moon marking the start of the month of Muharram.
Accordingly, Tuesday will be observed as the official public holiday for the Islamic New Year.
The holiday comes in line with the decision of the Council of Ministers and a circular issued by the Civil Service Bureau. Government offices and public institutions will remain closed on Tuesday, with official working hours resuming on Wednesday.
The Islamic New Year marks the start of a new year in the Islamic lunar calendar and is observed annually as an official holiday in Kuwait.
