US President Donald Trump said on Monday that ships carrying oil are starting to move through the Strait of Hormuz, a day after Washington and Iran announced that that they have agreed on a framework to end their war.
“Ships are starting to move, many loaded up with oil, out of the Strait of Hormuz. They are going along the southern highway, which is totally safe, secure and pristine,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
The US and Iran on Sunday agreed on a preliminary framework towards resolving the war, with the formal signing ceremony for the agreement slated for Friday in Geneva, Switzerland.
