Al-Hayshan, Al-Rashdan are ‘no-go’ fishing areas, says EPA

The Environment Public Authority said fishing is strictly prohibited in Al-Hayshan and Al-Rashdan areas as per the applicable environmental regulations and bylaws (as shown in red on the map above), contrary to what is being published by some media sites.
The authority explained that Resolution No. (1079) of 2009 concerning fishing by what the resolution called fishing by ‘pleasure boats’ is prohibited within a range of three nautical miles from all coasts, in addition to prohibiting fishing from the coast except with a permit or official notification from the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources.
The Authority urged everyone to adhere to the applicable regulations and instructions, and to verify the accuracy of any unofficial information before circulating or publishing it, stressing that legal action will be taken against anyone who promotes false information, and calling for information to be obtained only from official and approved sources.
