Prime Minister reviews progress of work on Mubarak Port, GCC railway and Airport T2 projects
Government pushes for faster completion of Kuwait’s major development projects; accelerates infrastructure works on housing and renewable energy

His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, chaired the 50th meeting of the Ministerial Committee responsible for monitoring the implementation of Kuwait’s major development projects, reaffirming the government’s commitment to accelerating strategic infrastructure initiatives across the country.
The high-level meeting brought together several senior ministers and officials, including the Minister of Public Works, Noura Al-Mashaan; the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs, Abdul Latif Al-Mishari; the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem; and the Minister of Finance, Yaqoub Al-Rifai, alongside other senior government officials and advisors.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the implementation status of several flagship national projects, most notably the Mubarak Al Kabeer Port project, the development of the national electricity grid, renewable energy initiatives, and environmentally sustainable waste recycling systems aimed at supporting Kuwait’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.
Discussions also focused on housing development projects, environmental infrastructure linked to wastewater treatment plants, and ongoing afforestation and environmental sustainability programs designed to enhance Kuwait’s urban and ecological landscape.
The committee further reviewed the latest progress on railway connectivity projects between Kuwait and the Saudi Arabia, as well as the broader GCC railway network, which is expected to strengthen regional integration, trade, and transportation connectivity among Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
Another key topic was the latest developments concerning the new passenger terminal (T2) at Kuwait International Airport, one of the country’s most important infrastructure projects aimed at boosting aviation capacity and supporting Kuwait’s long-term economic vision.
His Highness the Prime Minister directed committee members to intensify efforts and maintain disciplined executive management and strategic planning to ensure projects are completed according to approved timelines and international quality standards.
He stressed that the government remains committed to overcoming challenges, enhancing institutional efficiency, and delivering further accomplishments in line with the vision of His Highness the Amir, Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for sustainable national development and economic transformation.
