Kuwait seizes endangered species in crackdown on illegal wildlife possession
Environment authority acts on CITES violation, confiscates protected animals and plants

The Environment Public Authority announced the seizure of endangered wildlife and plant species following a report about the illegal possession of organisms protected under the CITES agreement, which ensures that international trade does not threaten species’ survival in their natural habitats.
In a statement posted on Monday via X, the authority said it coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect the site, where the violation was confirmed, involving the unlawful possession of protected animals and plants, reports Al-Jarida daily.
The authority added that official violation reports were issued in accordance with Article 101 of Environmental Protection Law No. 42 of 2014 and its amendments. The seized organisms have been confiscated as legal procedures continue.
