India’s first woman envoy in Kuwait presents credentials to Amir

. . . reaffirms strategic partnership

In a significant diplomatic milestone, Ambassador Paramita Tripathi presented her credentials today to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, during a formal ceremony held at Bayan Palace.

The ceremony, marked by full protocol honors officially recognizes Ambassador Tripathi as the 20th Ambassador of India to Kuwait, and notably, the first woman to hold the position.

His Highness the Amir extended a warm welcome to the new envoy and wished her success in her diplomatic mission. He underscored the longstanding historic ties between Kuwait and India, highlighting deep-rooted civilizational links and strong people-to-people relations.

He also reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with India across diverse fields of mutual interest.

During the audience, Ambassador Tripathi conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and 1.4 billion people of India. She described Kuwait as a trusted friend of India, a respected regional voice in the Gulf, and an important partner within the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The Ambassador also expressed India’s solidarity with Kuwait amid regional developments, reiterating New Delhi’s strong commitment to peace, stability, and constructive engagement in the region.

She emphasized the vital contribution of the Indian community in Kuwait, describing it as a living bridge that strengthens bilateral relations.

Ambassador Tripathi further highlighted India’s determination to deepen the India-Kuwait Strategic Partnership across key sectors including trade and investment, defense and security, energy, healthcare, science and technology, innovation, skills development, and cultural exchange.

Both sides also reaffirmed the importance of cooperation on regional and global issues, particularly in upholding international law, the rule of law, and the principles of the United Nations.

India and Kuwait share historically close and friendly relations, built on strong economic ties, geographic proximity, cultural affinity, and enduring people-to-people connections.

This year also marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, underscoring the depth and continuity of their partnership.
