Three people were killed and 58 others injured in the United Arab Emirates as Iranian attacks entered their second day, according to the UAE Ministry of Defence, which said the country’s air defence systems continue to intercept large waves of missiles and drones targeting the nation.
The ministry announced that since the start of the attacks on February 28, UAE air and air defence forces have dealt with 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 541 Iranian drones.
Of these, 152 ballistic missiles were intercepted, while 13 fell into the sea. Both cruise missiles were successfully destroyed.
Air defence units also intercepted and destroyed 506 drones, while 35 drones landed inside the country, causing material damage, the Gulf News reports.
Authorities said 21 drones struck civilian sites, resulting in limited to moderate property damage in several areas after debris fell during interception operations.
The incidents resulted in three fatalities — nationals of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh — and 58 minor injuries involving residents of multiple nationalities.
Officials emphasized that the armed forces remain fully prepared to confront ongoing threats and continue operating at the highest level of readiness.
The ministry reaffirmed that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors remains its top priority and urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified reports.
