Drone debris disrupts power lines, causes limited outages in Kuwait
Grid stable despite damage to overhead lines after drone interception, says MEW

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Engineer Fatima Hayat, announced several overhead power lines in the southern region of Kuwait, as well as lines located near the Sixth Ring Road, were taken out of service after debris fell during the interception of a number of drones.
The incident caused a temporary disturbance in the electrical grid and led to partial power outages in several areas.
Hayat said specialized emergency teams responded immediately and are currently assessing the extent of the damage while carrying out the necessary repairs to restore electricity to affected areas as quickly as possible, in accordance with approved technical procedures and the highest safety standards, reports Al-Rai daily.
She affirmed that the overall electricity and water situation remains under control, noting that power generation, water desalination, and transmission systems continue to operate efficiently under round-the-clock monitoring to ensure service stability and continuity.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to rely solely on official sources for accurate information, reaffirming its commitment to keeping the public informed of developments as they occur.
It also expressed hopes for the continued safety, security, and stability of the country and its people.
