Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, said the country is experiencing cold and humid weather conditions, accompanied by reduced horizontal visibility due to fog, which may reach zero in some areas from tonight through Tuesday morning.
Al-Ali told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that weather maps and numerical models show Kuwait is being affected by an extension of a surface high-pressure system from the northeast, bringing with it a cold and humid air mass.
This will be accompanied by light to moderate southeasterly to variable winds, with speeds ranging between 6 and 28 kilometers per hour.
He warned of the likelihood of fog formation in several areas, which may reduce horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters and, in some locations, cause near or complete loss of visibility during the evening hours and early Tuesday morning.
Al-Ali added that daytime weather will be generally cool, turning cold at night. Expected maximum temperatures today will range between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are forecast to range between 4 and 14 degrees Celsius.
