National Assembly staff begin strategic secondments to boost government efficiency

In a move aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and meeting the growing demand for qualified national personnel, the Civil Service Commission has initiated the secondment of selected employees from the General Secretariat of the National Assembly and the Ministry of State for National Assembly Affairs to various ministries and government agencies, effective from the beginning of December.

The CSC emphasized that the selection of employees followed objective criteria, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity, while considering educational qualifications, job titles, technical expertise, and the specific staffing needs of each government entity.

This initiative follows the Civil Service Council’s decision in March, which exempted employees of the National Assembly Secretariat and related ministries from restrictions on transfers, secondments, and assignments, and waived the requirement for prior employee consent before secondment.

Government agencies have been instructed to ensure that seconded employees commence work on the specified dates, integrate their records into the civil service systems, and process all related allowances and bonuses by December 7.

The CSC also highlighted the need to review salary accounts and deploy seconded personnel efficiently according to the operational needs of each sector.

This program represents a strategic step in strengthening the capabilities of government agencies while optimizing the deployment of skilled national personnel across the public sector.
