MoH opens ‘Tataman’ clinic to boost early detection, confidential testing

The government Hawally Health District inaugurated the ‘Tataman’ Clinic today for voluntary testing and counseling at the Salwa Specialized Center.

The initiative aims to expand access to early testing services while ensuring complete confidentiality and full respect for patient privacy, in line with ongoing efforts to strengthen Kuwait’s preventive healthcare system.

Dr. Maryam Mansouri, Head of Public Health Services in the Hawally Health District, told the Kuwait News Agency that the launch of the ‘Tataman’ Clinic supports the Ministry’s commitment to early diagnosis and limiting the spread of infectious diseases of public health significance, reports Al-Rai.

The clinic provides confidential HIV testing along with professional pre- and post-test counseling.

Dr Mansouri noted that the facility will also offer additional screening services, including tests for syphilis, hepatitis B and C, and gonorrhea — all delivered within a formal healthcare setting that preserves patient dignity and reassures individuals seeking information and care, free from stigma or discrimination.

She emphasized that the clinic’s opening aligns with the Ministry’s vision to expand early detection efforts, facilitate access to diagnostic services, and raise community awareness about infectious diseases and prevention methods—an essential step toward enhancing national health security.
