Kuwait Lawyers Association organizes conference on Future of Justice in Digital Age

Khaled Al-Suwaifan, Secretary of the Kuwait Lawyers Association, announced that the conference titled “The Future of Justice in the Digital Age: From the Courtroom to the Cloud”, organized today in cooperation with the French Embassy and the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), aims to explore the evolving landscape of justice in the digital era.

Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Suwaifan said the event seeks to highlight the latest global developments in electronic justice and digital arbitration, while exchanging views on how to prepare Kuwait’s legal and legislative environment to keep pace with rapid technological transformations — a move expected to enhance the efficiency of the judicial system and accelerate dispute resolution, reports Al-Rai daily.

He described the conference as one of the most significant events marking the first Kuwaiti-French Law Day, representing a new milestone in the ongoing journey of legal cooperation between Kuwait and France.

Al-Suwaifan explained that the idea of the Kuwaiti-French Law Day was born from a shared vision between the Kuwait Lawyers Association and the French Embassy to establish an annual platform for legal and legislative dialogue. The initiative aims to facilitate the transfer of advanced legal expertise and provide an opportunity for Kuwaiti lawyers and professionals to benefit from the French legal system, known as one of the most respected and longstanding in the world.

He noted that the event carries double significance — reinforcing the historical partnership between the two nations while enhancing Kuwait’s role as a regional platform for international legal cooperation.

Al-Suwaifan emphasized that collaboration with the French Embassy and the ICC aligns with the association’s “Lawyer 2025” vision and the “Paperless Justice” initiative, both of which promote digital openness, innovation, and integration with global legal practices. These efforts also support the State’s broader digital transformation strategy and its commitment to modernizing the justice sector.

The conference program includes dialogue sessions and specialized workshops featuring experts and legal professionals from Kuwait, France, and international organizations. Topics will cover the future of e-judiciary amid digital transformation, the opportunities and challenges of cloud-based arbitration, the role of artificial intelligence in case management and dispute resolution, and the impact of technology on international legal cooperation.

Open discussions will enable lawyers and legal professionals to engage directly with international experts, gaining comparative insights and expanding professional awareness.

Al-Suwaifan concluded by reaffirming the association’s commitment to strengthening its role as a national hub for legal expertise, contributing to shaping the future of justice in Kuwait and fostering strategic partnerships with leading international institutions. He stressed that the conference represents a key step toward consolidating Kuwait’s position as both a regional and global legal partner, bridging the gap between traditional and digital justice systems.
