Municipality implements comprehensive clean-up plan for Shuwaikh beach

Faisal Al-Otaibi, Director of the Capital Municipality’s Cleanliness and Road Occupancy Department, announced the implementation of a comprehensive plan to monitor and maintain cleanliness at the Shuwaikh Beach site.
The plan includes adding more garbage containers and increasing the number of sanitation workers to handle the growing volume of waste in the area.

Al-Otaibi assured that “things are under control,” noting that municipal teams will remain on-site around the clock, reports Al-Rai daily.
The municipality has assigned 25 sanitation workers to the area, supported by five containers with a capacity of 1,100 liters and 15 containers with a capacity of 240 liters.

He explained that the previous number of containers was insufficient to accommodate the large amount of waste generated, particularly as access for collection vehicles was hindered by congestion over the past two days.
Al-Otaibi added that sanitation workers, under the department’s direct supervision, have already removed more than 600 bags of garbage, in addition to a compactor capable of holding between 8 and 12 tons of waste.
He also warned that dumping garbage in unauthorized areas carries a fine of 100 dinars, and violators will be referred directly to the Public Prosecution.
