Medium-voltage projects planned for Al-Sabah and cancer hospitals

The installation of medium-voltage equipment at the two hospitals is intended to secure the necessary power supply for their operations.

  • The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said the 300 kV cable project in the Al-Sabah area aims to link the district to the ultra-high-voltage network, which will provide electricity to eight projects currently under construction in the area.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has added three electrical projects to its current development plan. The projects include the manufacture and supply of 11 kV medium-voltage equipment for the new Al-Sabah Hospital and the new cancer hospital, as well as the supply of 300 kV underground cables, Al Anba newspaper reported.

According to sources, the installation of medium-voltage equipment at the two hospitals is intended to secure the necessary power supply for their operations. Meanwhile, the 300 kV cable project in the Al-Sabah area aims to link the district to the ultra-high-voltage network, which will provide electricity to eight projects currently under construction in the area.

Sources indicated that the implementation of these projects reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing electricity and water services, ensuring the continuous operation of Ministry of Health facilities and the provision of medical services to citizens and residents, as electricity and water remain among the most essential services provided by the state.

She added that the ministry has coordinated with the Ministry of Health and the relevant hospital authorities to determine the needs and requirements for supplying electricity to these facilities, including cables and primary and secondary stations. She explained that the ministry will issue tenders through the Central Tenders Committee, allowing companies to compete for implementation in accordance with the applicable frameworks and regulations.
