Lulu Exchange Hosts FIFA World Cup Screening of Argentina–Austria Match in Association with Argentine Embassy
Diplomats, football fans and community members gather at VOX Cinemas for live screening of Argentina–Austria clash
Football fever gripped Kuwait on 22 June as Lulu Exchange, in association with the Embassy of Argentina in Kuwait, hosted a special live screening of the FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Austria at VOX Cinemas.
The event attracted a large gathering of diplomats, business leaders, members of the Argentine community, Lulu Exchange customers, football enthusiasts and residents, creating a vibrant atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie as fans watched the highly anticipated match on the big screen.
Among those present were ambassadors and diplomatic representatives including H.E. Ramiro Velloso, Ambassador of Argentina; H.E. Ruben Alfredo Avila, Ambassador of Venezuela; H.E. Alain Perez Torres, Ambassador of Cuba; H.E. Carlos Enrique Tomas, Ambassador of Peru; H.E. Rodrigo Gabsch, Ambassador of Brazil; H.E. Paramita Tripathi, Ambassador of India; H.E. Eduardo Peña Haller, Ambassador of Mexico; H.E. Noshrevan Lomtatidze, Ambassador of Georgia; H.E. Lena Maryana, Ambassador of Indonesia; and H.E. Ulrich Frank, Ambassador of Austria, as well as Mr. Rafael Martinez, Deputy Chief of Mission of El Salvador, and Mr. Fernando Grande Fria, Chargé d’Affaires of the Vatican Embassy.
Welcoming guests, His Excellency Ambassador Ramiro Velloso of Argentina highlighted football’s unique ability to bring people together across cultures, languages and nationalities.
“It is a pleasure to see so many friends gathered here to share the excitement of the FIFA World Cup,” Ambassador Velloso said. “Football has a unique ability to bring people together across cultures, languages and nationalities, and tonight we can see that spirit alive and well.”
The ambassador expressed his appreciation to Lulu Exchange for sponsoring and organizing the event and thanked VOX Cinemas, members of the diplomatic community and supporters of Argentina in Kuwait for helping make the evening a success.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Subaheer, Deputy General Manager of Lulu Exchange, said the company was proud to support initiatives that strengthen community ties and create memorable experiences for residents.
“Football has a unique way of bringing people together, transcending borders, cultures and languages. Tonight, we celebrate the spirit of unity, friendship and sportsmanship that the beautiful game inspires,” he said.
Mr. Subaheer thanked the Embassy of Argentina, VOX Cinemas and event partners for their cooperation and support. He also specially acknowledged the efforts of Mr. Shafaz Ahamed, Head of Operations at Lulu Exchange, and Mr. Muhammad Aslam, Digital Manager, for their role in organizing the successful event.
The event also recognized the contributions of Mr. Salem Aljamiah and the Boca Juniors Consulate in Kuwait, whose support helped bring the initiative to life.
As Argentina secured a 2-0 victory over Austria, guests enjoyed an evening filled with excitement, friendship and sporting spirit, with Lulu Exchange customers also actively participating in the gathering.
