12 arrested over stadium riots during Kuwait–Qadisiya soccer match

The Ministry of Interior has confirmed the arrest of 12 persons involved in riots during the Kuwait Sports Club and Qadisiya Sports Club soccer match at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium last Friday.
In a statement, the ministry said the match descended into chaos following verbal and physical altercations between members of both clubs, leading to a crowd storming the pitch.
Special security and riot police were deployed to contain the unrest and restore order, reports Al-Rai daily.
Those arrested include the heads of the two clubs, three administrators, and seven of their relatives. They have been referred to the competent authority and remain in custody pending legal procedures.
They have been charged with hurling insults and resisting public employees, physical assault, and slander.
The ministry stressed that it will take a zero-tolerance approach toward any behavior that disrupts public order or endangers spectators at sporting events.
