ICAO honors Kuwait for excellence in Civil Aviation security oversight

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has honored the State of Kuwait in recognition of its progress in establishing an effective civil aviation security oversight system and raising the level of compliance with ICAO’s international standards and recommended practices.
The recognition was announced during the 42nd ICAO General Assembly, which is being held from September 23 to October 3 in Montreal, Canada, with the participation of 193 countries, 69 international and regional organizations, and major global aircraft manufacturers.
The Kuwaiti delegation is headed by the President of the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Eng. Humoud Mubarak Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, who extended his congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the government and people of Kuwait, and all civil aviation personnel for this international achievement.
Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah emphasized that Kuwait’s ‘award’ reflects the success of the Kuwait International Airport in achieving results that exceed international standards, as confirmed by periodic ICAO security audits.
He further stressed Kuwait’s commitment to active participation in international aviation forums and to supporting efforts that enhance the safety, security, and sustainability of global civil aviation.
