Fatal apartment fire claims one life in Maidan Hawalli

Fire on fifth floor of an apartment in Maidan Hawalli resulted in the unfortunate death of one person even after the Directorate-General of Fire Department (DGFD) swiftly responded with firemen from the Salmiya, Hawalli, and Al-Hilali stations to tackle the blaze.

Residents were promptly evacuated, and the firefighting teams successfully fought, controlled, and extinguished the fire. Regrettably, the incident led to a loss of life, and the site was handed over to the relevant authorities.

The DGFD Public Relations and Media Department emphasized the critical importance of adhering to safety and fire prevention guidelines to safeguard lives and property.

In a separate incident, a paramedic sought treatment at Farwaniya Hospital for first- and second-degree burns sustained in a heater explosion at his residence in the Khaitan area.

The Ministry of Interior’s operations received a report about the expatriate’s injury, prompting swift ambulance response and registration of a fire and injury case.
