Kuwaiti oil tankers arrive in Lebanon under new energy deal

Lebanese Energy Minister Joe Saddi announced the arrival of the first Kuwaiti oil tankers in Lebanese waters as part of an agreement to supply Lebanon with natural gas and oil.
The deal includes 132,000 metric tons of gas oil to operate Electricité du Liban plants, with half — 66,000 tons — donated by Kuwait.
Saddi noted that the arrangement effectively halves the cost compared to other offers and ensures no extra burden on citizens, with the remaining portion covered by the utility’s revenues, reports Al-Rai daily.
He thanked Kuwait for its continued support, highlighting its longstanding solidarity with Lebanon in difficult times.
