10 deaths reported from Ahmadi governorate due alcohol poisoning
Ten separate incidents of death have been reported in the Ahmadi governorate. The cause of the deaths has been reported as poisoning allegedly happened after consuming locally-made alcohol.
A security source told Al-Jarida initial examinations suggest the cause was alcohol poisoning.
Investigations are ongoing and the ministry of interior is monitoring the situation as more cases are being reported.
Spurious or locally made alcohol is a serious health hazard and the ministry of interior has clamped down on locally made alcohol manufacturers.
