MOH condemns assault on doctor at primary healthcare center

The Ministry of Health has, in strong terms, condemned the assault on an on-duty doctor at a primary healthcare center, reaffirming its commitment to protecting medical staff and safeguarding health facilities.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry reported that the attacker fled the scene after physically assaulting the doctor, leaving him with injuries and multiple scratches.
The incident, the statement noted, constituted a clear violation of the sanctity of medical facilities and the safety of the workers, and is considered a criminal offense under Law No. 70 of 2020 regarding the practice of medical professions.
Immediately following the assault, the Ministry took all necessary legal and security measures in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice.
Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi and Undersecretary Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi personally checked on the doctor’s condition and addressed his needs.
The Ministry affirmed that it will continue to follow up on the case with security and judicial bodies while maintaining all measures to protect the work environment and guarantee legal and professional rights for all healthcare employees.
