During a surprise traffic campaign on the Mutlaa Residential City road today, the Ministry of Interior announced the issuance of 225 traffic violations and the arrest of 8 persons, including wanted persons and juveniles.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations and Security Media Department of the ministry said the mobile radar units were used in the operation.
Among those arrested were five juveniles caught driving without licenses, one person wanted under judicial arrest warrant, and two others placed under precautionary detention. Additionally, seven vehicles were impounded due to serious traffic violations.
The campaign is part of ongoing nationwide efforts to enforce traffic laws without exception. Authorities emphasized that such campaigns are conducted daily across various governorates, particularly in areas with high traffic flow or repeated dangerous violations.
The ministry reiterated its zero-tolerance and that drivers are urged to comply with all traffic rules, including signals and signage, to maintain public safety.
The Ministry concluded by stressing that the primary objective of these operations is preventive — to build a traffic culture rooted in respect for the law and responsible driving behavior.
