Jahra recorded Kuwait’s highest temperature on Monday, reaching a blistering 52°C, followed by Abdali and Matarba at 51°C. Umm Al Maradim Island logged the lowest temperature at 39°C, according to the Meteorological Department.
The forecast for the day after tomorrow remains severe, with temperatures expected to hit 50°C again, accompanied by relative humidity in coastal areas — prompting warnings across sectors, reports Al-Rai daily.
In light of the ongoing heatwave, the Public Relations Department of the Kuwait Fire Force urged citizens and residents to exercise caution when using electrical appliances.
With increased reliance on air conditioners and other devices, the department warned against connecting multiple high-consumption devices to a single outlet, which could lead to dangerous electrical overloads and fires.
Officials advised using certified electrical connectors that meet safety standards, routinely inspecting wires and plugs, and unplugging devices when not in use to reduce the load on circuits.
These precautionary steps are especially vital as the country grapples with extreme temperatures during the peak of summer.
