Kuwait to lift poultry import ban from Brazil

The Supreme Committee for Food Safety at the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has recommended lifting the ban on all poultry imports from Brazil, including fresh, frozen, processed meat, derivatives, and table eggs.
This decision follows the end of the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in Brazil.
In the meantime, the has recommended banning poultry imports from certain regions in the United States due to a current outbreak of the same virus, reports Al-Rai daily.
The ban includes all poultry meat and eggs except those heat-treated at 70°C, which are considered safe for import.
