Power load surges as temperatures hit 51°C

Kuwait’s electricity load index recorded a sharp rise today, reaching a peak of 17,336 megawatts, according to data from the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. The surge coincided with soaring temperatures, which climbed to 51°C amid an intensifying heatwave across the country.
The Ministry attributed the significant increase in demand to the ongoing extreme weather and urged citizens and residents to conserve energy, especially during peak hours, to help ensure the stability of the national power grid, reports Al-Jarida daily.
