Dust storms, rising humidity, and high temperatures expected in Kuwait
The Meteorological Department has forecast hot and dusty weather for Kuwait today, Thursday, as the country is currently under the influence of a weak high-pressure system accompanied by a hot and dry air mass. Winds will be northwesterly, light to moderate, and may become active at times, especially in exposed areas, potentially causing dust storms.
According to Acting Director of the Meteorological Department, Dharar Al-Ali, the high-pressure system will gradually weaken by Thursday evening, making way for the seasonal Indian low-pressure system. This shift will bring a relatively hot and humid air mass along with variable winds ranging from southeasterly to light to moderate in speed, particularly noticeable over the weekend, reports Al-Jarida daily.
Al-Ali noted that wind speeds will gradually decrease through Sunday before southeasterly winds regain strength on Monday, potentially bringing more dust and higher sea waves. He advised residents to stay updated on weather alerts, especially in open and coastal areas.
